alternative ways to light my huge aquarium?
okay,so i just got a huge tank and im looking at supplies for setting it up. unfortunately,i’m trying to do this the cost efficient way(lol). step one is to get some lighting.
i was wondering if anyone has any experience with using actual sunlight to light their tank, or could at least point me to a good website
its a saltwater reef tank(or will be eventually)
You can make your own top make a box that sit on top of the tank and put lights in it. Look up DIY aquarium hood or canopy. If you don’t have jumpy fish you could get a big flurescent cheap light fixture And hang it over the tank.
Edit-
If money is an issue don’t even think about doing saltwater everything is way more money nothing is cheap and there is little you can do to cut cost unless you buy things used.
